Dr. Boyle undertook post-graduate fellowship training at Harvard University and Duke University in the USA, sub-specialising in orthopaedic sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and hip preservation surgery, before returning to New Zealand to practise. Dr. Boyle specialises in arthroscopic (“key-hole”) surgery, hip preservation surgery, shoulder surgery and knee surgery, and has a special interest in the management of sporting injuries.

Harvard & Duke Fellowship Training
Following specialist qualification, Dr Boyle undertook two years of post-graduate fellowship training at Harvard University and Duke University in the USA, sub-specialising in orthopaedic sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and hip preservation surgery.
Subspecialty Focus in Hip Preservation Surgery
Dr Boyle has a particular subspecialty focus in hip preservation surgery, including periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) for hip dysplasia. He completed advanced PAO fellowship training at Boston Children's Hospital — one of the world's leading centres for this procedure — and performs PAO surgery for patients referred from throughout New Zealand.
Elite Sports Medicine Experience
Dr Boyle has extensive experience in caring for elite athletes, having previously served as Team Doctor for the Duke University Men's Basketball Team (National Champions), the Duke University Men's Soccer Team, and the Duke University Football Team in the USA.
